Your iPhoto library data base might be damaged. This is a rare behavior that we haven't heard about for a long time.ġ. I did, in fact, email them and below is the response I received very quickly from them for your information/interest: If you only want your originals (or can not get your old library to work) then just import the originals folder from your old library into your new library If you have photos in your new library that you want to keep, export them to a desktop folder, follow the above instructions and then import the photos you just exported If you have few or no photos in your "new library" that you want to keepĪND you still have the old library that you want to use, you can simply trash your iPhoto library in your pictures folder and drag your old library into the pictures folder, make a backup of it and launch iPhoto with the option (alt) key depressed and use the select library feature to select the library you just placed in your picture folder - it will no use it If you want multiple libries you can switch between as stated above. No where were you instructed to Import a libraryĪs smtr suggested you can import the originals into iPhoto. To select a library launch iPhoto while depressing the option (alt) key and use the "select Library" option - this library will remain selected until you select a different library Oh yes, I did email the Duplicate Annihilator company but haven't heard from them so decided to post here. I would appreciate any help and suggestions to delete the duplicates and/or correct the program.

I had to Force Quit both Duplicate Annihilator and iPhoto to regain control of my iMac. Also, there was the cog or ball turning that seemed to indicate the program was working but it continued to cycle. Selecting any of those options caused the message window to close again and the cycling continued as another new message window repeating the above message appeared with cycling continuing. Clicking on any of those three choices (Close/Report/Reopen) caused the message window to close, the cycling continued and the original message "Application iPhoto quit unexpectedly" appeared again with the selections 'Close Try Again Report". Close Report Reopen" and began to switch and cycle among iPhoto, Finder, and Duplicate Annihilator windows. When it began working, this message appeared "Application iPhoto quit unexpectedly. After iPhoto was open, I clicked on Duplicate Annihilator in Finder/Applications and selected "Find and Annihilate Duplicates". I downloaded/installed Duplicate Annihilator and opened iPhoto '08.
